Gympanzees is a charity dedicated to creating fully inclusive spaces where disabled children and young people can enjoy exercise, play and leisure activities that meet their individual needs.
Through accessible and therapeutic play, Gympanzees aims to improve health and wellbeing while helping to reduce the isolation often experienced by disabled children, young people and their families. Its services include inclusive Pop Up events, an equipment lending library and an online resource hub providing practical activities and support for a range of needs.
Gympanzees is also working towards a major milestone: the opening of the UK’s first fully inclusive exercise, play and leisure centre in spring 2027. The purpose-built centre will provide families with a welcoming and accessible place where children and young people can move, play, socialise and take part in regular physical activity.
The Gympanzees Lending Library gives families, schools and organisations access to over 150 pieces of specialist exercise, sensory, therapy and play equipment. It allows families to try equipment before buying and helps children and young people continue to benefit from physical activity, sensory play and therapy between visits to Gympanzees. Equipment can be borrowed through the Gympanzees centre or its network of partner hubs.
